King George & Gold Cup Weekend
We have a wonderful weekend of racing to look forward to.
First up is theĀ King George VI and Queen Elizabeth StakesĀ at Ascot. The race is the same age as me, and over the past 75 years we've seen some truly outstanding winners. Pinza and Ribot were before my racing days, but since then we've been treated to champions such as:
It's a very strong renewal this year, and withĀ OmbudsmanĀ not lining up, it certainly hasn't become any easier. Whatever happens, it should be a race well worth watching.
Closer to home, we have theĀ Gold CupĀ at Greyville and our usual competition is running atĀ R100 a goĀ for nothing more than bragging rights!
On paper it looks like a punter's card... although we've all thought that before.Hopefully we can land the Pick 6.Here are my thoughts:
Leg 1Ā šĀ Alice B ToklasĀ ā Banker.
Leg 2Ā š Go as wide as your budget allows... even the field if you can stretch to it.
Leg 3Ā šĀ BSCĀ ā Banker.
Leg 4Ā šĀ King PellesĀ ā Banker.
Leg 5Ā šĀ Real Prince,Ā 8 On 18Ā andĀ See It AgainĀ look the three to focus on.
Leg 6Ā šĀ AnotherdanceformeĀ could be another banker, although I'd consider adding one or two more for insurance.
Good punting! š
