What a Fool Believes 🤣

What A Fool Believes
Good morning Clan,
Royal Ascot certainly lived up to expectations.
Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore were once again the stars of the show, and most of the favourites delivered. 🔥
For me, Ombudsman produced the performance of the meeting, while we were also treated to some terrific clashes. The battle between Scandinavia and Trawlerman was probably my personal highlight.
As for the World Cup, Scotland battled bravely against a very good Moroccan side. Morocco were excellent in the first half, but Scotland can feel aggrieved after what looked like a couple of strong penalty appeals were waved away in the second. A 1-1 draw would have been a fantastic result.
Now we only have to beat Brazil to stay in the competition...
What a fool believes! 🤣
I'm sure many of you have seen Peter Kay's classic routine about misheard song lyrics. For years I thought the opening line of the Doobie Brothers classic referred to Morocco rather than "her long ago" 🇲🇦.
To be fair, some of Michael McDonald's lyrics can be difficult to decipher, but what a brilliant artist he was.
No Scotland, no party. The Tartan Army deserve a result against Brazil, although "What A Fool Believes" might be the most appropriate soundtrack for that one!
If you fancy the Scots, it'll cost you around R140 to win R1,000, while backing Brazil requires about R2,500 to win the same amount.
The big match takes place on the 25th, although kick-offs at 00:00 always leave me slightly confused. 😕
South Africa are also in action on the 25th and are in need of a result themselves.
Attention now turns towards the Durban July. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll make the final field this year. 😔
The pre-July party takes place on 2 July at Hollywoodbets Greyville, starting at 7pm.
At this stage, I'll be sticking with Andrew Fortune. After his remarkable comeback, it would be a wonderful story to see him enjoy success on the big stage. 👏
It's certainly feeling rather chilly in Pretoria at the moment, while much of Europe continues to battle through a heatwave.
The Doobie Brothers were always one of my favourite bands, so I'll add the Peter Kay clip below for anyone who fancies a laugh.
Good punting 👍

Is Ombudsman the best horse in the world? The BHA's head of handicapping thinks so after awarding the Godolphin star a career-best rating for his Royal Ascot success.Dominic Gardiner-Hill gave Ombudsman a mark of 132 for his four-length win over Minnie Hauk, a rating that is 4lb higher than his previous best when landing the Juddmonte International at York last year.
