The highlight for me was watching Jonbon win again — what a horse 🐎

We also saw Forever Young land the Saudi Cup and now heads towards the Dubai World Cup on 28 March, where he’s already a hot favourite 🔥 It’s shaping up to be a cracking field, with Romantic Warrior sitting around 20/1 😉
Note ! The Warrior holds the record for earnings at $32.7 M and Forever Young $29,4M.

🏇 Racing This Weekend

Constitution Hill runs Friday night at Southwell after a bit of draw drama. Even if he wins impressively against Willie and Ryan, the big question remains — can he get over the jumps at Cheltenham?
The Hill is second fav and worth a punt. 

I’ve added his Champion Hurdle victory at the end of this post as a reminder of just how special he could be.

I watched Scottsville yesterday and this wee French lass Michel certainly is talented 👌 
In addition well done to Tigershark with Zena Rose and a very proud father to have his daughter win in her own silks on first run.

Today we have a decent card at Turffontein. Almond Sea is one of my favourites and could well strike again.

Friday sees racing from PE, where Zietsman has a couple of capable jockey bookings — and hopefully will benefit to find winners box.

In addition Dorrie Sham is looking for support for the ECHCU Charity Day on 20th March,  so buy a couple of bricks in the wall for this worthy cause. R500 a brick.

When I mentioned Scotland pulling off a surprise or two, I didn’t quite mean losing to Italy and then beating England!

France look unstoppable at the moment.
England vs Ireland should be tight.
Scotland ought to account for Wales.

⚽ Football

Hearts were edged out by Rangers in a thrilling encounter — especially the first half — but remain third favourites for the Premiership.

At around 4/1, they might be worth a punt.

As expected — plenty of promises and more task groups.
Let’s see whether the times truly change.

❤️ Health & Travel

Health remains a bit of a challenge, but I’m really looking forward to seeing my Scottish family and friends in April and May.

The heart procedure (AFib ablation) is on the back burner until I return — no available dates before we travel.

I’ve always told Mrs S that my favourite place on the planet is an airport departure lounge. That’s where my ashes should one day be left… though hopefully on the return flight back to SA.

The doctors say my health is lifestyle-related.
When I told them I was sober for 14 years…

“What happened, Mr Scott?”
“I turned 15.”

All going well, the plan is to move into a retirement village in Hillcrest, KZN later this year — closer to the Hollywood July 😉

Interesting supermarket difference:
In Gauteng, you can use the same till payout for wine and groceries. In KZN, that’s illegal — separate tills required 😅

I suppose we can live with that inconvenience… provided we have running water 💧

Dave , Nicky Henderson has confirmed Constitution Hill will not run at Cheltenham and will only run on the flat from now on. 
 

I guessed that when 14/1 was available on Betfair 😉

The Melbourne Cup would be a massive challenge but let's see what happens in a couple of UK races
