Greetings all, noticed the speculative chats about Star Major on a platform that serves to provide some of the more insightful and entertaining banter on SA racing. I really enjoy it, and am charmed that there is a thread on Star Major.

As regards our colt, there is no overseas sale afoot. Certainly nothing to date. We are as surprised by the chatter. Was asked after this at Greyville last Saturday, and was surprised at to the rapid diffusion of a yarn! It may smoke out some bids now, tho! 😅

Secondly, nothing sinister about the scratching. The horse had a raised temperature and SAA last week, and we, with some regret, scratched him from the July. James Crawford released a press statement last Tuesday.

This week, as nominations were due for the Champions Cup, our earnest young trainer opted in - but pragmatism prevailed today. The horse has had no work for 11 days now as the temp flux has been somewhat persistent, and one can’t go into a G1 with a truncated prep.

So, that’s the season for us. To be fair, we had one major ambition at the start of the year : win the Daily News 2000. We did that, so on balance, we can be grateful that he has a full cabinet: G3, G2 and G1. 🙏🏽

Thanks as always for the interest. It’s the fuel of racing.

Let’s hope we can reboot our campaign come spring in Cape Town. He’s an equine Springbok alright. 💪🏽

Was told on the course horse was sold for 40 million, how these rumors start is anyone's guess
